The Manager, RFPs & Proposals is responsible for managing the day-to-day activity of incoming and active RFPs/Proposals and the RFP/Proposal process.  Foley’s Proposals/Pursuits Team is a strategic partner to attorneys and helps craft responsive, engaging materials that go beyond “standard” capabilities documents. Team members engage and collaborate directly with attorneys, firm management, administrative department leads, in addition to our Business Development & Marketing colleagues.  Responsibilities include the management of the intake, assessment, assignment/delegation and active participation in the development of firm responses to client issued Request for Proposals.  The Manager also works with firm management in assessing proposal opportunities to ensure that the firm is deliberate in selecting opportunities that align with the firm’s strategy and vision. 

Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day management of the RFP/Proposal process.
  • Leveraging the assessment process to focus firm resources on beneficial opportunities.
  • Review and assignment of incoming RFPs/Proposals
  • Coordination of the proposal process from inception through submission.
  • Develop proposal drafts, including writing, editing, and proofreading materials.
  • Provide template development and formatting assistance.
  • Ensure materials are error free, visually appealing, and all aspects of the RFP are responsive to the client/prospective client and reflective of the firm’s differentiators.
  • Oversee production/submission coordination.
  • Support follow-up initiatives for RFP opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with lead partners, business development managers, and others, to assist in the development firm responses to RFP's and drafting customized content.
  • Track and report metrics on firm-wide proposal and pitch activity.
  • Assist in review and continual updates of standard materials in content management system.
  • Assist in review and updating of proposal process guidelines and best practices.
  • Provide new hire, refresher and other related training and support to the Marketing team with proposal-related needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required. #LI-Hybrid 
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in marketing, business development and/or communications required 
  • Law firm experience required 
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Word and have working knowledge of PowerPoint, including use of advanced features.
  • Requires excellent communication skills, including verbal and written, as well as editing skills.
  • Familiarity with Client Relationship Management and Content Management systems, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Acrobat is preferred.

In support of transparency and equity in the workplace, Foley provides salary ranges for all positions. The figures below represent the full compensation range of this position. The actual offered amount will be between the range minimum and midpoint based on the following factors: education, experience, geographic market, and internal pay equity at Foley.

-Detroit, Milwaukee, Orlando, Salt Lake City, and Tampa - $113,500 to $170,300

-Austin, Chicago, Dallas, Denver - $124,900 to $187,300

-Boston, Washington D.C. - $136,200 to $204,400
