The Marketing Automation Specialist is an important member of the marketing technology team who will bring sophisticated engagement techniques to drive demand and engage current and prospective clients across campaigns and events.  The Specialist is responsible for building and deploying email marketing programs, automating engagement workflows, maintaining data hygiene in partnership with the CRM team, generating performance reports to communicate effectiveness and inform strategic decision making, and providing guidance to marketing users. The ideal candidate will be proficient in marketing automation/email marketing platforms, able to stay current with new relevant technologies over time, possess strong project management skills, and demonstrate a strategic approach to marketing initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with the Manager of Digital Marketing Technology and others: create, manage, and continuously improve a marketing automation strategy that is clearly communicated to stakeholders on at least a quarterly basis.
  • Create, maintain, and continuously improve all processes related to email marketing, such as: process for bounced email cleanup, regular interaction with customer in between matters, communications around event cycle, measures for interactions based on bulk email for external contacts, management of audiences / customer segmentation, and all other important areas of email marketing in a large professional services setting.
  • Create and meet KPIs for email marketing on important statistics like view rates, bounces, campaign effectiveness, customer satisfaction (internal and external), size of email marketing lists, and additional factors to be recommended by incumbent in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Conduct quarterly reviews to highlight KPIs, performance of past campaigns, trends, problems, and opportunities. 
    • Identify and pitch new processes and changes for continuous improvement every quarter.
    • Provide insights on individual and all marketing campaigns on a regular basis along with formal quarterly business reviews.
    • Cross-functional collaboration to refresh templates and best practices around standard communications, events, and reporting.
  • Provide broad coaching, communication, data reports, and collaboration with/to business professional colleagues and attorney stakeholders to ensure marketing automation meets the needs of the business and achieve defined goals and KPIs.
  • Provide top tier customer support and service in a law firm setting by providing timely and effective solutions to user questions and requests.
  • Build and deploy email campaigns, ensuring alignment with strategic goals. Provide campaign support to users via list uploads, instruction, and troubleshooting.
  • Develop and provide regular training to users throughout the firm, especially within the Business Development and Marketing department, ensuring effective utilization of marketing automation tools, including the means for creating audience segments and managing those across the digital tools available to us.
  • Evolve the firm's use of marketing automation to increase demand and drive user adoption. Influence digital marketing strategy by providing marketing automation input and implementation.
  • Serve as the primary software vendor point of contact with the relevant systems in this space which will include email marketing, contact data tools, web personalization, and potentially others.
    • Stay abreast of technology developments to help ensure Foley has the right new technologies in place to be competitive.
    • Make recommendations for the adoption of new and supplemental technologies and systems where appropriate.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience with marketing automation required; professional services marketing could be a plus.
  • Proficiency with marketing automation tools such as Litera Concep, Salesforce Pardot; Vuture, Marketo, Hubspot, or Eloqua required. 
  • Must have some familiarity with CRM and analytics platforms.
  • Knowledge of user experience methods such as A/B testing.
  • Must have fluency with marketing concepts like segmentation, messaging, positioning, and promotion.
  • Strong email content development skills, including writing, proofing, and editing.  #LI-Hybrid

In support of transparency and equity in the workplace, Foley provides salary ranges for all positions. The figures below represent the full compensation range of this position. The actual offered amount will be between the range minimum and midpoint based on the following factors: education, experience, geographic market, and internal pay equity at Foley.

Milwaukee - $62,100 to $86,900
Chicago & Dallas - $68,300 to $95,600

Washington D.C. - $74,500 to $104,300
