The Business Development & Marketing Specialist will support the execution of business development and marketing initiatives, projects, programs, and processes that support all attorneys within the firm’s 4 Midwest offices, spanning Wisconsin, Illinois, and Michigan. This individual will have strong project management skills needed to manage and deliver firmwide programs, activities, and processes that support the business development and marketing strategies of the offices in the Midwest. This position will work closely with the Senior Manager, BD&M (Midwest Region) to stay versed on emerging legal and market trends in regions, provide attorneys with an understanding of the competitive landscape, and help position the firm for increased revenue and profile-raising opportunities.

 

Responsibilities

  • Execute the delivery of innovative, distinctive, and integrated profile-raising campaigns and initiatives for the Midwest Region, including client events, targeted seminar programs, client-facing material production, website development, digital and social media, etc.
  • Help implement firm-sponsored events, conferences/seminars, and client receptions, including logistics, invitations, materials, follow-up communications, and ROI tracking.
  • Conduct research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities to deepen existing client relationships, expand the client base, and increase external and internal visibility.
  • Identify memberships, sponsorships, and subscriptions that further the region's reach and provide new sources for lead generation. Assist lead attorneys with maximizing benefits.
  • Update the firm's CRM database, including data entry, external mailings, and running reports.
  • Understand and support the pitch process, including competitive intelligence and research, to ensure strong intra-practice and sector communication and client service opportunities.
  • Manage the major award programs aligned to the office or region, including tracking key award opportunities and writing submissions.
  • Help create and distribute thought leadership materials, such as client alerts through mass mailings, digital media postings, and internal newsletters.
  • Work with the communications and PR team to maintain the internal and external profile for the Midwest Region by publicizing news items and events.
  • Evaluate profile raising memberships and sponsorships and manage those we engage in to ensure the firm receives the maximum return on its investment (ROI).
  • Utilize and champion firm tools to support the Business Development & Marketing Department and firm initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Minimum of three (3) years of business development and/or marketing experience in a complex, consultative, and solution-oriented organization required
  • Event planning experience preferred 

 

Pursuant to the Illinois Equity Pay Act the salary range for this Chicago based position is between $65,300- $106,500.  These figures represent the full compensation range of this position. The actual offered amount will be determined based on the following factors: education, experience, geographic market, and internal pay equity at Foley.  #Li-hybrid
