Foley & Lardner LLP’s Washington D.C. office is currently seeking an Administrative Assistant who will provide support for our Intellectual Property (“IP”) law department. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, possess good verbal and written communication skills, and a superior attention to detail. A successful Administrative Assistant will have the ability to handle tasks in a fast-paced environment, prioritize in accordance with deadlines, and work with a wide range of constituencies in a polite and professional manner.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with conflict checks, opening new matters, time entry, and billing
  • Assist with managing daily uploads/downloads from client portals
  • Prepare reimbursements using Chrome River, coordinate travel
  • Review, scan, file and save incoming mail (documents, e-mails and facsimiles) to Netdocs/Outlook
  • Learn and master specialized IP software to handle IP specific tasks
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required 
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in an administrative support role required
  • Prior law firm and Intellectual Property experience, specifically in Patent Prosecution, preferred 
  • Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office platforms preferred
  • Other required skillsets and attributes include:

    • Skilled in coordinating and managing multiple projects/assignments/priorities simultaneously 
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Pursuant to the Washington DC Pay Transparency Law, the salary range for this Washington DC based position is between $46,500 - $75,900.  These figures represent the full compensation range of this position. The actual offered amount will be determined based on the following factors: education, experience, geographic market, and internal pay equity at Foley.
