Overview

Foley & Lardner LLP is currently seeking an experienced Knowledge Management (KM) Specialist to join our Practice & Client Solutions team. The right candidate will support knowledge sharing and collaboration as part of the firm’s knowledge management initiatives. The KM Specialist will contribute to the development of innovative technologies and processes to aid in the delivery of legal services.  In addition, they will assist attorneys and staff in using knowledge management systems effectively, respond to user inquiries, document best practices, and monitor usage data and behavior metrics to assess effectiveness of KM systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop automated workflows using DocuSign, HighQ, and other tools and applications
  • Assist end-users in effective utilization of the firm’s KM systems
  • Respond to user inquiries and help requests
  • Research and recommend new or existing tools and resources to improve workflow productivity and efficiency
  • Assist in the identification, documentation and promotion of best practices for effective use of knowledge management systems
  • Aid in the maintenance of documents related to system specifications, corporate governance, content management, best practices and firm standards
  • Proactively solicit feedback from end-users, monitor logs, usage data and user behavior metrics to assess usability and effectiveness of existing KM systems
  • Recommend improvements and/or enhancements to improve quality and increase user adoption of the firm’s KM systems
  • Remain current on innovative technology and GenAI trends in the legal industry, and technologies available to deliver effective information and knowledge services

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field preferred
  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant technology experience in a law or professional services firm required
  • Prior knowledge management experience strongly preferred
  • Solid understanding of the legal client/matter lifecycle, knowledge management trends and technologies, including process and document management solutions, the Microsoft 365 suite, MS Teams and SharePoint
  • Proven project management experience
